I saw this great post over at Crossroads:
Americans are funny. Here are the “sacrifices” we have had to make recently. No wonder Third World people laugh at us and then wrinkle their nose.
Parade Magazine Questionnaire
What have you had to sacrifice?Vacation plans: 68%
Dining out: 67%
Home improvements: 52%
Going to the movies: 50%
Designer clothes: 34%*********************************************
Waaah..I can’t buy my designer clothes….wwwaaaaaaaaahhhhh…….
Look at the list of five things that people responded with: vacation plans, dining out, home improvements, movie-going, and designer clothes. While millions of people in the world live on less than $2 a day, Americans claim that they have “sacrificed” these luxuries.
It’s just a helpful perspective for me…

It is a very sobering fact. I don’t think that any of us, even the most indigent in America, can even fathom less than $2 a day, unless they grew up in another country. Thanks for these sobering facts…
American’s spent 18 million last year on atm fees alone. Geesh, they also spent about 30 million on loosing weight which is funny since America is the most obese place.
I thought this post was awesome! I have some friends that claim poor. I’ll let you claim poor when you’re down to 7 dollars until Friday hits…we’ve been there. (and we still eat out!!!)
Great post. There was a site online once where you put in your income and it calculated how rich you are compared to the rest of the world. Americans (myself included) were in the top 5%! Even the poorest of Americans. That’s a wake up call too!
ps. on a separate note…I am still enjoying and loving my flowers!!!
Thank you!

I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the flowers Candy! It is crazy how we make so much yet don’t even realize it. I printed out all of the posts about Steve for Jada, I’ll try to remind Tiffany to take them with her if she goes with you guys tonight.
